World Bird Wednesday

Time once again for Word Bird Wednesday!  You don't have to be an experienced bird watcher or photographer (Thank the LORD) to join in the fun.  All you really need is a love of birds--observing them, photographing them, feeding them, learning about them, sharing them, enjoying them--or just ooohing and ahhhing over the finds of others.  Whatever it is you enjoy about birds, join up with Springman's Word (yes, I do know that's is supposed to be WORLD, but I keep it WORD because of our host's poetic way with words) Bird Wednesday at The Pine River Review.  You won't be sorry--unless you miss it.

I believe this to be an immature Green Heron we caught up with at the ponds.  One certainly has to be quiet to get a shot of this bird standing around instead of fleeing!

Excellent captures Pam.
Our native Heron usually sees me coming a mile away lol

They do seem to be on alert at all times, don't they? Thanks so much!

Good grief Pam, your stalking skills must be amazing! There is no way I could get that close to a Green Heron. They find me out before I even know they're there. Superb Captures. You are on your A game! ;-)WBW

said- Thanks so much for the visit and comment!

Saimi-Thank you!

Springman-They really are rather skiddish. I was somewhat sneaky this day! LOL Thanks!

Sondra- Thanks! This one hangs out at the pond. Otherwise, I would probably still be looking for one!

You got no one but several great shots of a bird I have yet to see. They are in my area but have been hiding from me.
Hey...I loved your opening paragraph!:)

Maine-True, they are! Thanks!

Andrew- I like them too. Thanks!

Jean-If they aren't hiding from me then they're running from me! I don't why this one stayed, but I'm glad of it! LOL Thanks!

Great pictures. That tuft of feathers would certainly indicate a young bird.

Ruth- Thanks! Has the book arrived yet?

Wow....sure is...we have adults visiting the pond, or maybe there were some young ones..I love them as they use tools to get fish to come to the surface...here they use a stick...Michelle

These are some fantastic shots! The blurred background really makes the heron pop up. Great job.

Regarding your question: I was that close to 'Mr. Big'. I was taking photos while the rhino was walking towards the jeep. That shot was the last one I took because I started feeling unconfortable and I was afraid the click sound would upset him and he might do something crazy! LOL! Keep in mind I was at an open vehicle. :-)

Beautiful photography and a very favored subject of mine. I need to work this into my life.
I Like Birds to quote the song by the Eels if you have not heard it search it on YouTube. As a bird watcher it could be your anthem. LOL
Thanks for stopping by. I know I will be back.

One of those landed in my trees by my chicken house. I thought all of my chickens were going to die of heart attacks.
I wanted to get a close shot of him but all I could do was look at him through binoculars.

your pictures are beautiful! I can't wait to see the rest of them!

Wow!!! You have the best bird shots.
I really love the one with the baby scrub jay.
You don't need to hook rugs, just keep taking your beautiful bird pictures.

I love birds. We spend a fortune on bird seed. And it seems we fill our hummingbird feeders daily now.
They are a sight to behold.
