World Bird Wednesday

Time once again for Word Bird Wednesday!  You don't have to be an experienced bird watcher or photographer (Thank the LORD) to join in the fun.  All you really need is a love of birds--observing them, photographing them, feeding them, learning about them, sharing them, enjoying them--or just ooohing and ahhhing over the finds of others.  Whatever it is you enjoy about birds, join up with Springman's Word Bird Wednesday at The Pine River Review.  You won't be sorry--unless you miss it.

There was one bird in the yard this week that hasn't been around, consistently, for over a year.  He's quick too, so I was lucky to get this shot of the Brown Thrasher.

And then there was a brand new bird in the yard.  I think it's a Dark-Eyed Junco.

We used to see a Brown Thrasher around here but I haven't seen him for a couple of years. I never did get a decent shot of him - very wary! I love your pics of the Juncos. They are sweet little birds!

It is wonderful that you have Brown Thrashers! Their numbers are decreasing. Love the photos of the Junco. I only had "1" visit all dang winter.

Nice shot of the Brown Thrasher Pat and the Dark-eyed Juncos are a nice new bird to have in your yard. It looks like you have the Slate colored variety.

Great Photos of the Juncos and the B. Thrasher--The Juncos will soon be leaving--but the Thrasher is a year round bird for us--so we can enjoy his/her antics all the time! They come to the suet feeder sometimes here but when food in the woods is plentiful they stay in the woods.

We here the thrasher's song in the summer time but rarely see them.

I'm surprised you have juncoes. The ones here should be leaving soon for places north. In fact I'm thinking they are late leaving this year.
